MEMORANDUM NO. 2014-01
TO: | Commissioners, District Administrators, Advisory Board, Legal Advisory Panel, Medical Advisory Panel, Medical Practitioners, Self-Insureds, Insurance Carriers, Attorneys, and Unions |
FROM: | John A. Mastropietro, Chairman |
DATE: | January 28, 2014 |
RE: | Changes for the 2013 Official Connecticut Practitioner Fee Schedule |
The Workers' Compensation Commission has issued the following changes for the 2013 Official Connecticut Practitioner Fee Schedule:
Effective for dates of service beginning February 1, 2014, report urine drug screening using codes GO431 and G0434. These services are reported once per patient encounter. If a serum (blood) or other specimen sample is used, CPT codes 80100 and 80104 may be reported a maximum of two times per encounter and code 80101 may be reported a maximum of three times per encounter. The provider must indicate that serum/other specimen samples were tested rather than urine samples.
The values of HCPCS codes are:
GO431 $157.56
GO434 $31.52
In anticipation of the October 1, 2014 adoption of the ICD-10-CM coding system, the CMS-1500 Form was revised. The CMS-1500 Form (02/12) version may now be used to report services to payers. As of April 1, 2014, only the (02/12) version should be used to report services. Both ICD-9-CM and ICD-10-CM codes are compatible with the CMS-1500 Form.
