WCC Informal Hearing Cancellations Memorandum - November 25, 1998

TO: Commissioners, District Administrators, Self-Insureds, Insurance Carriers, Attorneys, Unions, and Advisory Board Members

RE: Cancellation of Informal Hearings

The Workers’ Compensation Commission’s time is extremely valuable. We have had situations where hearings have been cancelled on the day of the hearing or the day prior to the hearing. We are unable to schedule even stipulations in this short period of time.

Therefore, effective December 1, 1998 the districts shall receive a written notice for cancellation of a hearing with copies of said written notice sent to all parties to the hearing. Said notice shall state the reason or reasons why the hearing was cancelled.
