FROM: Jesse M. Frankl, Chairman
DATE: February 19, 1998
RE: Disabled Workers' Scholarship Available

The Workers’ Compensation Commission is pleased to announce that the Disabled Workers’ Committee (a Connecticut-based not-for-profit organization whose mission is to help impaired workers) has renewed its $10,000, four-year annual scholarship fund. The fund assists a senior high school student who is the child of a worker totally disabled in the work place who lives in Connecticut.

The 1998 scholarship provides $1,250 per semester for four years to the child of a totally disabled worker who demonstrates both academic excellence and the financial need to go on to college. All applications for the 1998 scholarship must be returned to the Disabled Workers’ Committee by the April 1, 1998 deadline, along with a one-page narrative by the candidate and other supporting documentation.

For questions, more information and an application form, please contact Attorney Matthew Shafner, Chairman of the Scholarship Committee, at (860) 445-2463, or Dr. Joseph P. Zeppieri at (860) 449-8996.
