RE: | New Statutory Requirement regarding Medical Reports in Workers' Compensation Cases |
Public Act 96-125 (An Act Concerning The Furnishing Of Medical Reports Under The Workers' Compensation Act) was enacted during the course of the Spring Legislative Session of the Connecticut General Assembly. To assist you in meeting the new statutory requirement regarding medical reports in workers' compensation cases pursuant to Public Act 96-125, the Workers' Compensation Commission would like to notify you of the following:
Effective October 1, 1996, ALL MEDICAL REPORTS concerning any workers' compensation injury of an employee must be furnished WITHIN 30 DAYS AFTER THE COMPLETION OF THE REPORTS
All workers' compensation medical reports must be furnished AT THE SAME TIME AND IN THE SAME MANNER to the employer and to the employee or the employee's attorney
Copies of all workers' compensation medical reports must be furnished FREE OF CHARGE, as a regular and customary part of providing treatment to injured employees in workers' compensation cases
