A meeting of the Workers’ Compensation Advisory Board was held on Monday, April 7, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at the Office of the Chairman, 21 Oak Street, 4th Floor, Hartford, CT.

Minutes

A regular meeting of the Workers’ Compensation Commission Advisory Board was held on April 7, 2014 in the CRB Hearing Room at the Chairman’s Office, 21 Oak Street, Hartford, CT. The meeting convened at 10:15 a.m. with the following Board Members present: Chairman Gardner Wright, John Adamson, Rocco Calo, Michael Dimenstein, Ross Hollander, Daniel Krause and Gregory Nokes. Also attending were Michael Petosa and Connie Rue of the Workers’ Compensation Commission.

  1. Opening Remarks
    1. Chairman Gardner Wright welcomed the group.
  2. Chairman Mastropietro’s Update
    1. Chairman Mastropietro discussed workers’ compensation legislation pending before the legislature related to PTSD, hospital fees and domestic workers.
  3. Advisory Board Reappointments
    1. Chairman Mastropietro announced that the Governor’s reappointments of Ross Hollander, Gregory Nokes and Donald Shubert are awaiting final action by the House and Senate.
  4. Commissioner Reappointments
    1. Chairman Mastropietro advised that the Governor’s reappointments of Commissioner Nancy Salerno and Commissioner Ernie Walker passed unanimously out of the Judiciary Committee on March 28, 2014. Both nominations are awaiting final action in the House and Senate. In addition, Governor Malloy nominated Attorney Thomas J. Mullins, Esquire, of Farmington, to fill the vacancy created by the retirement of Commissioner Amado Vargas. His public hearing before the Judiciary Committee is scheduled on April 11, 2014.
  5. Approval of Minutes
    1. A motion to approve the Board’s minutes for meetings held on February 10 and March 10, 2014 was made by John Adamson and seconded by Daniel Krause. The motion passed unanimously.
  6. Adjournment
    1. A motion to adjourn was made by Rocco Calo and seconded by Donald Shubert. The motion passed unanimously. The meeting was adjourned at 11:10 a.m.
  7. Next Meeting
    1. The next meeting is May 12, 2014.
