Minutes

A regular meeting of the Workers’ Compensation Commission Advisory Board was held on September 13, 2010, in the Workers’ Compensation Commission’s CRB Hearing Room, 21 Oak Street, Hartford, Connecticut.

The meeting convened at 10:15 a.m. with the following Board Members present: Chairman Gardner Wright, Rocco Calo, Lisa Casey, Ben Cozzi, Greg Nokes, Linda Passanisi, and Donald Shubert. Also present were WCC Chairman John Mastropietro and Marvin Smernoff of the Workers’ Compensation Commission; and Kia Murrell from CBIA.

Chairman Mastropietro’s Update:

Governor’s Mandate to Reduce FY 2012:

Chairman Mastropietro discussed Governor Rell’s August 13, 2010 Memorandum requiring agencies to submit budget reduction options totaling 15% for FY 2012. Discussion was held about the agency’s core mission, how the proposed reductions will affect the Commission, and the Advisory Board’s role in the process.

Approval of Minutes:

On a motion made by Ben Cozzi, seconded by Rocco Calo, minutes from the regular meeting held on June 7, 2010 were unanimously approved.

Discussion of 2011 Meeting Dates:

On a motion made by Rocco Calo, seconded by Greg Nokes, meeting dates for 2011 were unanimously approved.

There being no further business, on a motion made by Ben Cozzi, seconded by Don Shubert, the Board voted unanimously to adjourn at 11:30 a.m.

The next meeting will be held on October 4, 2010.
